How to play Folsom Prison

Bet range: 0.20–100 · with ante: 0.24–120

Winning combinations form when matching symbols land on adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost reel.
After a win, the xSplit mechanic can split symbols to double the ways, then becomes a wild.
Landing 3 Scatters triggers Walk The Line free spins; 4 Scatters trigger The Chair mode.
Any Scatter hit by an xSplit awards an extra spin in either free spins mode.

Bonus features

Free spins
3 Scatters trigger Walk The Line (8+ spins); 4 Scatters trigger The Chair (8+ spins, more cockroaches each spin). Any Scatter hit by an xSplit awards +1 spin in either mode.
Ante bet
Toast Bet: costs an extra 20% per spin and guarantees a Scatter on reel 2, without changing symbol payouts.
Bonus buy
68x to 1500x the base bet depending on the feature (may be removed in some regulated markets)
XWays
transforms into a normal paying symbol and expands to increase the number of ways; can appear on any reel.
XSplit
lands on the central two rows of reels 2-5, splits the symbols it touches to double ways, then becomes a wild; an xSplit to the right of a Scatter turns it into a Super Scatter.
Cockroaches
Cockroach Nests spawn on the three middle reels or via a Scatter transformation, and cockroaches roam the grid opening locked cells.
Wilds
Wild and Cockroach Nest wilds substitute for paying symbols on any reel except reel 1.
Scatter conversion
two Scatters in the base game convert into xWays, xSplit, Wild or Cockroach Nest and unlock the middle two rows of reel 5.

The xSplit symbol splits symbols to double ways, then turns wild. Cockroach Nests spawn on the middle reels, and roaming cockroaches open locked cells to increase winning potential.
