Yousician: Learn & Play Guitar - Interactive Music Lessons

Yousician: Learn & Play Guitar is an education app by Yousician Ltd. that teaches guitar, bass, and singing through interactive lessons and real-time feedback. It works as a personal music teacher that listens to your playing and gives instant guidance on pitch, rhythm, and technique. The app covers everything from first chords to advanced improvisation, with structured lesson paths and a large catalog of real songs.

The core experience revolves around playing along with interactive tabs while the app uses your device's microphone to evaluate your performance. This feedback loop helps beginners correct mistakes early and keeps intermediate players engaged with targeted drills for scales, arpeggios, and chord progressions. Beyond guitar, the same platform supports vocal training and bass guitar lessons, making it a versatile tool for multi-instrument learners.

Version 5.41.0 brings only small improvements and bug fixes, without introducing major new features. The app remains free to download with optional in-app purchases and no ads, though premium content is gated behind a subscription. Released back in 2015, it has grown into a widely used music education platform with a large active community.

Latest changes · 5.41.0

Version 5.41.0, released October 7, 2026, includes small improvements and bug fixes. It does not introduce new features or major changes. The app remains free with in-app purchases, requires Android 8.0 or higher, and requests microphone and location permissions for its interactive lessons and tuner.

Complete beginners who want a guided start on guitar or vocals, intermediate players looking to drill scales and technique, and self-learners who prefer structured practice at their own pace.

Use a quiet room and position your device close to your instrument so the microphone can pick up clean audio for accurate feedback.

For anyone serious about picking up guitar, bass, or singing with structured guidance, Yousician offers a compelling package. The real-time feedback and song library justify the subscription for committed learners, though casual users may find the free tier limiting.
