AliExpress - Shopping App for Android

AliExpress - Shopping App is a shopping application by Alibaba Mobile that connects users with a global marketplace of products and lets them browse, compare and purchase items directly from a phone. The core problem it addresses is access: instead of visiting multiple retailers or relying on a desktop browser, shoppers get one catalog that aggregates fashion, electronics and home goods from sellers around the world. The app solves this by combining a searchable product catalog with tools for evaluating items before committing to a purchase. A built-in chat lets buyers ask sellers about sizing, materials or shipping, and the checkout flow uses integrated payment methods with protections applied to transactions. Once an order is placed, delivery can be followed through the app until it reaches the buyer's address. The listing carries a rating of 4.26 from 16,291,323 user ratings and reports 500,000,000 installs, which gives a rough sense of how widely it is used. It is free to download and install, listed under the Shopping category, and carries a Teen content rating. The current version is 8.177.6, dated 2026-10-13, on a release line that began in 2012.

This update focuses on refining the overall shopping experience. It resolves several user experience issues, improves app performance for smoother browsing, and introduces 'Choice' items that offer better prices and services. Users are also encouraged to leave feedback for future improvements.

This app suits people who already shop online and want a single place to compare goods from many sellers rather than visiting separate retailers. It is a reasonable fit for bargain-focused shoppers who watch daily deals and coupons, and for buyers who prefer to ask questions before ordering, since seller chat is built in. Because the catalog spans fashion, electronics and home goods, it can work as a general-purpose shopping tool rather than a niche one. Users who are uncomfortable granting broad permissions, or who prefer a minimal set of app permissions, should weigh that before installing.

Before buying from an unfamiliar seller, use the chat to confirm sizing, materials and shipping details, and read the item's ratings and reviews. Check the order status through in-app tracking after payment. Because the app requests several permissions, review them in Android settings after installation and revoke any you do not need.

AliExpress - Shopping App packs a global catalog, seller chat, secure payment and order tracking into one free application with no ads or in-app purchases. Its broad permission list is worth reviewing, but for regular online shoppers it is a practical, widely used option.
