Airbnb for Android

Airbnb is a travel and booking app by Airbnb that lets you reserve stays, activities, and on-demand services through a single mobile interface. It is aimed at travelers who want more flexibility than a standard hotel search, and at hosts who want to list their own space. The app has been around since early 2012 and is free to download, with no ads and no in-app purchases, making it accessible to a wide audience.

When you open the app, you can browse more than eight million vacation rentals spread across over 240 countries and regions. Filters help narrow things down by amenities such as a pool, a kitchen, or step-free entry, and each listing page gathers the key details and guest reviews in one view. Beyond lodging, the app lists thousands of experiences led by local hosts and a range of services like private chefs, photography, and wellness treatments that can be booked at your stay or even at home.

Version 26.41, released on October 13, 2026, continues this direction with a redesigned interface. The homepage now surfaces personalized suggestions based on where you are staying and who is traveling with you, while the Profile section shows a record of places you have visited and people you have met. A day-by-day Trips tab keeps check-in times, entry codes, and host messages together, and much of that information remains available when you are offline.

How to install

1. Tap the download button on this page to get the APK file. The size is not specified here, so check the space on your device before starting.
2. When Android asks for permission, allow your browser or file manager to install apps. This is the 'Install unknown apps' setting, which you may need to enable for the app you are using to open the file.
3. Open the downloaded APK file from your notifications or your file manager.
4. Tap Install and wait for the process to finish.
5. Open the app. It requires Android 9 or later, so make sure your device meets that minimum before installing.

This app suits independent travelers who want to book entire homes, private rooms, or local experiences instead of standard hotel rooms. It is also useful for groups and families who need filters for accessibility or specific amenities. Finally, it is intended for hosts who want to list a home, experience, or service and manage bookings from their phone.

If you are new to the app, start by setting your destination and dates, then use the filters to narrow results before reading reviews. Save listings you like so you can compare them later, and check the Trips tab after booking to keep check-in details handy when you are offline.

Airbnb offers a broad, free tool for finding stays, experiences, and services in one place, with a recent redesign that improves personalization and trip organization. The wide range of options and the lack of ads or in-app purchases are clear advantages, though the app asks for many permissions and can feel complex at first. For beginners, it is worth installing if you want flexible travel options and are comfortable adjusting a few settings during setup.
